Interests

At a point in my young life sports were played 9-10 months out of the year. I love sports. Baseball, Basketball, football, soccer, volleyball and wrestling complete my resumé. Sports provided learning experiences that I still value today. Football proved to me, it didn’t matter if I was 4′ 10” and 82 lb, if I played with heart and passion I earned respect for my capability. Wrestling changed my mentality from “enough is enough,” to “Never settle for where you are; always reach higher.” Volleyball taught me you can’t be good at everything, but being a great learner is the next best thing. For me, these life lessons don’t just apply to athletic competition, but all aspects of my life. I also watch a lot of sports. The men’s college basketball March Madness tournament is my American Idol for some people. I tune in every year to fill out a bracket and immediately have it busted by an upset. I stay hungry for the chance at achieving a perfect bracket.

I satisfy that hunger with, well, food. I am a huge fan of eating. There are very few cuisines that I dislike. My favorites are Thai, Italian and American Barbecue. I especially will NEVER turn down a nice sirloin steak! Just the thought of one makes me want to run to the nearest steakhouse. While I have my goto meals, I’m always down for something new. Food is delicious, and when prepared correctly can be as aesthetically appealing as art.

Speaking of art, did I mention I like to draw? It’s true, I enjoy doodling in my free time and often try to express my interests through street art. No, I’ve never actually been tagging… but I have sketch books full of designs I’ve made over the past few years. My favorite artists are Banksy, Shepard Fairy, and Space Invader. I’ve posted some of my best pieces on my Artwork page.

Cars are my favorite piece of machinery and always will be. I find all cars interesting, but like most, I have my favorites. German brands like Audi and BMW are the best cars on the road today, in my opinion. Having said that, my favorite car of all time is the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS. Owning one is a goal on my bucket list. Another goal of mine is to design an alternative fuel engine as popular as modern combustion engines.
